master thesis
This work deals with philosophical perspectives on material that move far away from conventional ideas. It is about the meaning and scope of action of material, especially in design processes. The work experiments with how designer and material can work together and how the „activity“ of the material in the design process can be made visible. The work aims to test a new way of dealing with material in order to achieve a healthier coexistence of man and environment. The motifs are inspired by Alighiero Boetti, who has dealt with the question of authorship in his works. The question of authorship of the designer and material is also posed by the fabrics and therefore their intersection with Alighiero Boetti. Jacquard and handwoven fabrics made of naturally dyed hemp yarn can be seen here.
